Jake Day is Maryland’s Secretary of Housing and Community Development and a dedicated leader in urban planning, sustainability, and community development. As the former Mayor of Salisbury (2015–2023), he spearheaded transformative projects that revitalized the city, emphasizing smart growth, housing accessibility, and economic development.
With a background in architecture and urban design, Jake holds degrees from the University of Maryland, Carnegie Mellon University, and the University of Oxford. In addition to his public service, he serves as a Major in the Maryland Army National Guard, contributing his leadership skills to both local and national initiatives.
