Maryland General Assembly Adjourns Sine Die
On March 18th, the Maryland General Assembly adjourned early due to concern for the spread of COVID 19. Scores of bills died in Committee due to a shortened session and their fate remains uncertain. There was some word that a Special Session may be convened later this year but if, and what that may look like, is unsure. Legislators we spoke with are mixed on the topic and the legal process and precedents are, no doubt, being studies right now.

AIA Maryland – 2020 Legislative Bills in Review
The 441st Session of the Maryland General Assembly convened on January 8, 2020 and will continue to April 6, 2020. Working closely with our lobbyist, Joe Miedusiewski of Old Line Government Affairs, the AIA Maryland Legislative Committee reviews and monitors bills introduced during legislative session that could have an impact on the architectural profession and Maryland architects.
