2025 AIA Maryland Student Design Awards — Call for Entries Now Open!
AIA Maryland is proud to announce that the 2025 Student Design Awards are officially open for submissions!
This annual program celebrates excellence in architectural design by students and strengthens the connection between AIA Maryland and the academic community. We invite students to showcase their creativity, innovation, and vision for the future of architecture.
Who is Eligible?
Students enrolled in an architecture program during the 2024-2025 academic year at a Maryland community college, college, or university.
Maryland residents attending an accredited architecture program outside of Maryland.
Individual or team submissions are welcome (all team members must meet eligibility).
Key Dates
Entry Deadline: June 23, 2025, by 11:59 PM EDT
Faculty Sponsor Letters: Due within one (1) week of submission
Awards Celebration: September 2025

Community College – Excellence in Hand Delineation
Community College – Excellence in Design
Undergraduate / Beginning Design – Excellence in Design
Undergraduate / Upper Level Design – Excellence in Design
Graduate / Beginning Design – Excellence in Design
Graduate / Upper Level Design – Excellence in Design
Awards & Prizes
Award for Excellence in Design — $1,000 cash prize
Merit Award — $500 cash prize
Honorable Mention — Certificate of Recognition
Winning projects will be celebrated at our annual Design for Excellence Awards Ceremony, featured on the AIA Maryland website, social media channels, and in press releases.
